Picsearch are looking for experienced developers to lead their development team. Successful candidates will have a strong background developing in UNIX environments and have naturally adopted a position as a lead developer through consistently producing quality results on time and the mutual respect of your colleagues.
Required skills and knowledge:
• Experience as a software architect, responsible for core development and code design
• Several years of C++ experience
• UNIX development experience
• Strong written and spoken English
Preferred skills and knowledge:
• Proven track record leading development teams
• Understanding and practical application of design patterns
• Familiarity with Scrum / Agile or similar methodologies
• Python familiarity
• Master degree in computing or equivalent
• Large-scale computing experience including high availability, scalability, reliability and distributed systems
• Broad technical experience including system administration and many environments
Professionally you are comfortable delivering to deadlines by managing your own time and priorities well, and also support others to do so. You lead team discussions encouraging everybody to contribute their best efforts, have excellent communication skills and are trusted as an authority on a broad range of technical knowledge by your peers. You understand the “big picture†and assume responsibility to deliver desired results on schedule.
Picsearch is one of the three biggest providers of image search services and many leading search engines around the world use our services. We handle several hundred million search queries every month and therefore we have high demands regarding performance, scalability and reliability. In addition to search services we provide online video solutions which power several high profile websites in both within and outside of Sweden.
Picsearch was founded in 2000 and has steadily grown since then. We are now 20 employees in Sweden and profitable. We are located in fresh offices at Liljeholmen’s center in Stockholm with a view over a lakeside park.
