We're looking for a Lead developer to join our Swedish office with responsibility for the work done at Avidity's Brazilian office.
The Lead Developer will be supporting the dev team, helping organising the day-to-day work, high level prioritisation, team development and acts as a technical liaison to the Brazilian office. Because of the liaison with the Brazilian office, it is essential that the person speaks fluent Brazilian Portuguese.
The Lead developer will be a part of the dev team, and this person is expected to participate in day-to-day development activities.
Responsibilities
Plan, design, lead, and execute technical solutions and improvements
Assisting CTO with technical discussions
Assisting technical recruitment for Avidity Sweden
Assist team development, primarily for developers in Sweden and Brazil assigned to the Avidity's clients
Ensure Development Best Practices
Ensure the team follows practices for software development. This includes process (design, code, PR flow), code quality (naming and architecture, test coverage) and communication (messaging on slack, PR descriptions).
Also facilitate changes and improvements to said practices and make sure they are applied with the specifics of each project in mind.
This could include things like:
Ensure design- and code reviews happens as they should and assist when necessary;
Follow up on communication on slack, pointing out bad and encourage good behaviour
Spend time reviewing PRs across projects in order to track progress and monitor average quality
Local Resource Management
Help allocating resources to projects and specific challenges within a project. This ensures that the right person is working on the right tasks, and is receiving the support they need to be successful.
Recruitment And Team Capabilities
Perform the technical part of the interview process with a colleague and have one of the required verdicts on whether a candidate is accepted.
Also help with input when deciding on what competences to hire and in what direction the team's skills should be developed.
Talent Development
Together with the CTO, help define what the technical standard of Avidity AB and Avidity Brasil should be.
Track the technical performance of individual developers so that the company can provide the correct support. This could include:
Help staff that often struggles with completing tasks on time or to the standard we expect;
Help staff that is repeating mistakes such as frequently rejected PRs or missing tests;
Address bad trends on team level.
