Who we are Platform Development is a function within Volvo Buses which is responsible for platform development, architecture, project management and test. In this organization we have our group BiW and Body Components. We are a diverse and enthusiastic team of 10 committed engineers with global platform responsibility. Since, we are global responsible we have also close co-operation with our sites in Poland, Mexico, Brazil and India.
The one we are looking for We are now looking for an experienced engineer within the area of light weight, and especially within composite/sandwich material. You will be responsible to drive the light weight technical area forward, keep roadmap, give recommendation for strategic decisions and be a part of an advance engineering team as well as projects for industrialization. In the role you will have close contact with suppliers, build and share knowledge in the organization and be a speaking partner within Volvo Bus and in the Volvo Group.

Who are you?
You have experience and knowledge about the development and design of different kind of composite/sandwich as well as their properties and limitations. Also, you have experience within the design of the structure between sandwich material and the connecting structure. Manufacturing knowledge related to sandwich material is also a benefit.
Since, information sharing is important you have good communication skills and that you are fluent in English, both written and spoken. As a person you are a true team player, self-driven with a positive, global and problem solving mind-set. You have a capacity to work individually, with a small team and also to lead activities within in the light weight technical area. You have a Master degree in Engineering and an interest in automotive technology is a preferable.
