Tradera is a small team where every member counts. We are on a mission to drive the transition to sustainable shopping by creating a safe, engaging and super easy to use marketplace for buying and selling pre-loved items.
With close to 3M items for sale at any given time and more than 2M customers, we have lots of transactions and lots of data to work with - all in the cloud (GCP and BigQuery), that make it easy to work with.
The opportunity with data
Our whole business model is data-driven. We do not handle any physical goods and we do not have any physical stores. Our success depends entirely on how well we can manage the logical layer of connecting sellers and buyers.
We see a huge potential to create better user experiences and to unlock new business opportunities through the use of data analysis, AI and ML. The scope includes image search and classification, product recommendations, text/sentiment analysis, anti fraud, predictive models, advanced customer support through chat bots and more.
Where you fit in
You will be leading our efforts around automation and advanced analytics - complementing our team of highly skilled developers building our products.
As such, you need to be curious and engaged and that can take a pragmatic, results-oriented approach to our opportunities. We will always optimize for the results over the tools used. For some problems you will use standard cloud products and in other cases you will write your own models.
• you partner with product/business owners and lead data projects end-to-end: recognizing opportunities, defining metrics and goals, implementing AI/ML solutions, and evaluating the impact
• you develop and ship machine learning solutions for automatic predictions and decisions, and personalized user experiences
• you embed within multi-functional product teams to collaborate on implementing and integrating solutions
• you will continuously learn together with others by practical doing, attending conferences and events, and collaborating with academia
Skills and Qualifications
• you have a MSc or Phd degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, physics or related discipline
• you are pragmatic and passionate about the end results, not just the techniques used to get there
• you have hands-on experience of implementing production machine learning systems, and a solid understanding of ML theory
• you are comfortable working in cross functional teams and on products with short development cycles and quickly evolving priorities
• you are self-driven and can work independently and in a team
