The Lead Data Engineer plays a key role in shaping the future of data management at Stegra by overseeing, updating, and streamlining digital systems. With a strong focus on the Asset Information Management (AIM) system, this role ensures it becomes the trusted single source of truth for all plant asset information. The position involves leading efforts to maintain data accuracy, designing automated workflows for seamless data extraction, and integrating advanced digital systems to empower complex operations and maintenance processes. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through innovation and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and maintain the AIM system as the single source of truth for plant asset data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and streamlined change management processes.
Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to gather, validate, and incorporate updates, while mentoring junior data engineers and enhancing team collaboration.
Lead ETL process implementation, develop automation scripts, and support advanced software tools for seamless data workflows and efficient asset management.
Perform regular audits, ensure compliance with industry standards and policies, and establish strong data governance principles.
Create dashboards, predictive models, and analytics tools to provide actionable insights into asset data trends, quality, and usage.
Use advanced data analysis to identify opportunities for operational enhancements and recommend impactful process improvements.
Qualifications:
A degree in Computer Engineering, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a related field.
4-5 years of hands-on experience with asset information management systems, ideally AVEVA AIM, and strong knowledge of industry standards.
Proven experience with AI applications in data engineering, including machine learning models and natural language processing (NLP).
Skilled in programming languages like Python, R, or Java, with expertise in ETL tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Informatica) and workflow automation techniques.
Proficient in creating impactful visuals using Power BI, Tableau, and handling relational/non-relational databases (SQL and NoSQL).
Familiarity with AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and a passion for leveraging data to drive creative, impactful results.
