hela Sverige Volvo AB is seeking a talented and experienced Lead Simulation Engineer to join our esteemed team in Gothenburg, Sweden. As a Lead Simulation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing advanced simulation models to drive innovation in battery cell technology. Join us in shaping the future of energy storage systems.
Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize advanced simulation models for battery cells, encompassing electrochemical performance, aging phenomena, thermal management, and material property simulations.
Lead the integration of simulation models into the design and development processes of energy storage systems, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation in battery cell simulation methodologies to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
Collaborate with experimental teams to validate simulation models, correlating them with real-world data and improving model accuracy.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and successful project outcomes.
Required Skills:
Profound knowledge and expertise in LIB (Lithium-Ion Battery) cell simulation and modeling tools, such as COMSOL, Ansys, Star CCM+, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, etc.
Strong experience in empirical cell testing to bridge the gap between simulated and experimental results throughout the battery development process.
Solid understanding of electrochemical processes, aging mechanisms, thermal effects, and material properties relevant to battery cells.
Ability to effectively develop and integrate components with complex system architecture and integration.
Familiarity and proficiency in working with OEM or battery cell supplier development processes.
Qualifications for Success:
Ambitious, energetic, and highly communicative engineer with a passion for battery cell simulation and a track record of driving technological advancements.
Master's degree or higher in Physics, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Material Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of industrial experience in battery cell modeling and simulations within OEM, supplier product development, automotive, or related industries.
Engaged and committed to staying at the forefront of battery technology, emerging approaches, and diverse simulation techniques.
Agile thinker with the ability to understand the broader context, identify objectives, set priorities, and support teams in overcoming challenges.
Result-oriented mindset, continuously seeking improvements in simulation methodologies and work processes.
Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging individuals and groups at various levels within the organization.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
