What do we do?
At the Energy and Storage System, ESS, section we 're responsible for the complete battery solution. At our section, we are accountable for the complete life of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase. In the Mechanical & Thermal Group we 're looking for an Experienced CAE Crash Simulation Engineer.
What will you do?
At Electromobility you will have all the advantages from Volvo Group being a large international company, but in combination with all benefits from a tech startup. In this position you will perform crash analysis of the battery pack. Together with peers within our company you will develop the needed numerical methods and support the projects with informative, accurate and useful analysis.
Perform crash analysis of the battery pack and report and communicate status to the projects.
Define requirements/ tests/ data to develop models.
Together with Mechanical component owners evaluate design depending on materials, manufacturing methods etc.
Lead and participate in testing and method development.
Who are you?
To succeed in the role as Simulation Engineer you need to have:
MSc. Engineering or a Ph.D.
Minimum of 10 years CAE experience within the Automotive industry.
Proven experience in crash simulation using LS Dyna.
Proven experience in pre- and post-processing tools, ANSA and META.
Experience in modelling technique for the ESS and its components with respect to material and joining.
Deep knowledge and understanding of strength and fatigue of materials especially plastics, adhesives and composites.
Experience of development subsystem load cases from complete vehicle simulations and requirement setting for crash is a merit.
Experience of python scripting is a merit.
