As Lead Commodity Buyer and Segment Leader in the Powertrain Vendor team, you will have a global purchasing ownership of Vendor Engines. You will be responsible for building and executing segment business plan, leading internal and external network at all levels in order to secure the competitive product offer globally for different truck brands within Volvo Group.
THIS IS US, YOUR NEW COLLEAGUES
Powertrain Vendor team is a continental team located in Sweden and in France. We belongs to Volvo Group Purchasing. Your colleagues are also located in United States, Brazil and Asia/Oceania with whom you interact regularly. You also have close collaboration with internal stakeholders responsible for different fields such as Quality, Technology, Sales/Brand and Operation.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Responsibility:
Lead and develop the segment strategy and purchasing process for Vendor Engines to support Volvo Group's strategic objectives
Strengthen Volvo Group's competitive advantage by understanding the business needs and the supplier market
Lead or support large/regional/global sourcing projects of Vendor Engines
Own the purchasing contract road map and responsible for its renewal/extension
Develop and manage the supplier base, using categorization, segmentation, evaluation, etc. in order to maintain the competitiveness and to establish the appropriate levels of relationship with suppliers
Organize and prepare the executive business meetings with key suppliers connecting both internal and external stakeholders in order to maximize its outcome
Drive business synergies and continuous improvement with: benchmark, customer feedback, network, market intelligence, best practice sharing across the globe
Prepare and report Key Performance Indicators development to key stakeholders
Drive all relevant activities to secure supplier performance on QDCFTSR (Quality, Delivery, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, Risk) targets

Qualifications:
Purchasing experience, preferably in automotive
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
Experienced in negotiation
Financial and cost management skills
Relevant University/Master degree, preferably in engineering/business
Excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written, and capable of working in multi-cultural environment
