We are a startup in Stockholm who are building a social movie-making tool that lets anyone create 3D-animated movies from text. We are a small but dedicated team of programmers, artists, animators and designers. We like solving hard problems, using bleeding edge technology, and creating something great together. Now we are looking for someone who can lead the development of our web backend.
You are passionate about building robust and scalable web backends. You can architect and lead the implementation of a REST-based API that will scale to millions of users. You will be in charge of choosing the languages, frameworks, and data storage to use. You are opinionated about technology and like living on the bleeding edge, but you are also pragmatic and can use the technology that will do the job today.
And you like film of course.
You have experience of:
• Building modern web backends in Ruby, Python, Node.js or similar
• Service / API / REST-based web architecture
• Designing scalable databases with SQL or NoSQL
• Hosting applications in the cloud, e.g. using AWS or Heroku
• Serving assets from a CDN
• Test-driven development
• Agile using Scrum or Kanban
• Versioning using SVN or Git
Bonus if you're good at:
• Leading a team
• Payment systems
• Movie streaming
• Security
