The Global Technology Area Infrastructure provides tools, environments, and methodology to enable development, verification, and validation of world-class heavy-duty autonomous functionality. Sub domains include CI, CD, simulation environments, a broad variety of structured data and the data privacy office. Data driven software development with shorter and faster feedback loops are key in reaching our vision.

How you will make an impact
As Lead Architect Infrastructure, your primary responsibility is to ensure the development organization has the best pre-requisites in place to reach its full potential. You are the technical authority and responsible for connecting and guiding the company in tool selection, stack definition, as well as in the preferred methodologies to use the tools. This inherently means you are the primary owner of the technical infrastructure strategy and roadmap.
To succeed, you have a community of specialists, product owners, domain architects, partner companies and suppliers around you. You also have a clear mandate to conduct studies, order research, launch benchmark- and field studies to lead the way forward.
You are also greatly influencing the vision and strategy of the Global Technology Area Infrastructure, being a key member of the management team. Together we find the optimal balance between existing Volvo processes and tools, and state-of-the-art solutions on the open market as well as strategic partners. You are encouraged to dream big, dare to fail, and always invest time in personal development.
Who are you?
We believe it is the right mindset and attitude that will make a difference within our organization. We expect you to have documented and extensive experience from senior technical leadership roles with a strong drive for technology as well as for developing and motivating others. Possibly you have a background from research, and you most definitely have a researchers' mindset: we believe you are curious and have the ability to understand new contexts quickly and efficiently.
Knowledge and experience in SW development methodology, automation of SW development integration, verification such as simulation (automotive or otherwise), data refinement environments, and agile methodology are meritorious. While you normally work on a very advanced, high abstraction level, we like to see you're up for deep diving into details when it is motivated to do so.
As this job is all about collaboration, we believe you are a good listener, skilled communicator, and that it is easy for you to connect with other people. Our working environment is highly international, and hence you need to be proficient in English, both written and spoken.
