As Lead Applications DBA you will plan and coordinate the work for your group of DBA's, making sure that the everyday work runs smoothly and meet the demands of different stakeholders. It is important that you can identify improvements and then anchor and establish your ideas within the group. In addition to the coordinating part of your role, you will also work as a part of the team, where you will analyze, investigate and optimize our systems. Our systems are complex and transaction intense, so attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards is crucial.
As our Lead Applications DBA you will be a part of a group of four other DBA's. The group is a part of the Production department, although your position will give you the advantage to interact with various stakeholders within the organization.
Core responsibilities:
• Plan and coordinate the everyday work for your group of Applications DBA's
• Manage installations, upgrades and migrations
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Communicate with operations providers
• Drive improvement and automation
• Offer guidance and support to our Scrum teams regarding database design, index strategies and performance optimization in the data warehouse
Who are we looking for?
We believe that you are a person with great organizational skills, who enjoys working in a team environment. You adapt quickly to new ways of working with a can-do, jump-right-in attitude and inspire your team to follow. You would probably describe yourself as organized, structured and analytical. Because the role as leading Applications DBA involves interaction with various stakeholders within the organization, it is crucial that you have great communications skills. As we are continuously leveling up our agile ways of working throughout the organization, we believe it would be beneficial if you are familiar with agile working methods.
Qualifications:
• Strong organizational skills; prioritization, planning and time management
• Team oriented
• Strong Oracle skills
• Experienced working with PL/SQL and script
• Experienced working with large and complex databases
• Relevant academic degree or equivalent experience
• Experience working with agile methods
• English & Swedish, written and spoken
- Microsoft SQL Server experience is clear advantage
• Experience in the following platforms is a plus: AIX, Linux and Microsoft Windows Server.
