Polestar is the independent electric performance car brand founded by Volvo Cars and Geely Holding. In 2017, Polestar launched the Polestar 1 - a low-volume Electric Performance Hybrid GT. In 2020, the Polestar 2 was launched as the company's first fully electric, higher volume premium car designed to compete with the Tesla Model 3. In the future, Polestar 3 will join the portfolio as a fully electric performance SUV.

Role

Polestar is blazing a new trail, dedicating ourselves to the development and refinement of electric vehicle performance and to improve the society we live in. We are taking the lead in utilizing life cycle assessment not only as a tool for assessing impacts along our products' life cycle and making the right decisions based on that, but also as a way of creating greater transparency. Your contribution will help us develop what we have achieved so even further. As a part of our Quality & Sustainability team you will take the lead in driving the LCA process into the development. Your scope will primarily be LCA and Carbon footprint.

If you are an innovative, open-minded person who believes that electrification is a part of a sustainable future of our planet, we would like to hear from you.

Your contribution

• Excellent knowledge of how to perform LCA according to standards such as ISO 14044/14040 and Greenhouse Gas Protocol Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard.
• Experience of using LCA to assess a variety of impact categories, besides climate impact, such as resource depletion, water use and toxicity.
• Knowledge on performing LCA in software GaBi both for complete vehicles and for components
• Be an active member of the development team in system solution creations
• LCA communication, support and training across Polestar and externally
• Evaluating the potential impacts associated with identified inputs and releases
• Interpreting and analysing the results to help make a more informed decision.
• Secure fulfilment of global regulation within the area

Who you are

We believe you have a Master (MSc) in Environmental Science with a Natural Science base or equivalent. Experience in environmental science, chemistry or material/substances is meritorious but not necessary. You are enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized and driven. You're not afraid to try new approaches and unconventional methods, and you work well both individually and as part of a team. You have a holistic view, including vision, business, sustainability, and customers.

At Polestar, you will be part of a cross-functional and international team, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication.

Personal fit will be of great importance in this recruitment, as we are actively working to build a team with diversity in terms of experience, gender and background. But most of all, we want with your skill and enthusiasm to help Polestar be the guiding star.

We welcome your application with CV and cover letter. For further information, please contact Igor Glavan phone +46 701-765828
