hela Sverige The research institute Swerim provides applied research within mining engineering, process metallurgy and materials and manufacturing engineering, mainly for the mining, steel and metals industry. Swerim has 200 co-workers in two locations in Sweden - Luleå and Stockholm.
The metals research institute Swerim is now looking for a Life cycle assessment (LCA) expert who want to be involved and contribute to technology and innovation development to meet the industry's and future societal challenges for a more sustainable future.

The work
As a expert/researcher, you develop, lead and participate in research projects in close collaboration with our industrial partners in an advanced research environment. You collaborate both with researchers within Swerim as well as with other research groups nationally and internationally. The work is very varied and independent.
You have a strong quantitative or technical background with an excellent aptitude for analytical thinking. Natural curiosity to investigate issues, conduct research, design solutions and translate results into business practices.
In this role you join us as a LCA expert to carry out the research work/projects in the area of mining and steelmaking process. You will mainly work with:
• Managing research and consulting projects addressing Life Cycle Assessment, product sustainability strategy
• Creating life cycle assessment models of a product in SimaPro software
• Preparing EPD documents and conducting the certification process
• Analysis of manufacturing process data and developing life cycle inventories
• Performing analysis on energy, water, waste, and emissions, etc.
Qualifications
You have a science/technical academic degree with a focus on metallurgy or the equivalent preferably with at least 5 years of relevant work experience. The work is conducted in an international context and therefore it is important that you have a good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
Characteristics as a person, you have both the ability to drive work forward independently and to collaborate closely with colleagues in a team. We are looking for you who are curious, outgoing, find it easy to cooperate with other people and are sensitive to your surroundings. You work with foresight on business grounds with high integrity and scientific knowledge. Furthermore, you are responsible, can structure and prioritize work effectively.

The positions are permanent full-time positions and the location is Luleå.
