www.engelska.se IES Uppsala is a school for grades 4-9 with approx. 750 students and a staff body of about 75 members. The school is situated in the southern part of Uppsala, and Uppsala is only 30 minutes away from the swedish national airport Arlanda.
We are looking for a qualified Textiles teacher with international or Swedish teaching credentials to start in August 2023. The position is 60-100%, permanent with 6 months probation, teaching grades 4,5 & 6, following the Swedish National Curriculum. Possible combination with Home Economics depending on experience. Lessons can be taught in either English or Swedish. As a teacher at IES Uppsala you are also a mentor to a class together with a colleague.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated and passionate about teaching, with high expectations of the students, your colleagues and ultimately yourself. We are looking for someone who plans creative, engaging lessons and who fosters a love for learning. You are a dedicated and loyal teacher that believes in guiding each student to reach their true potential. We prioritise building relationships with students and commitment to mentorship duties. Your integrity, enthusiasm and positive attitude make you an outstanding role model.
Required competencies and desired qualifications/experiences:
• A natural leader in the classroom, able to create an calm learning environment
• We require lärarlegitimation or international teaching qualifications
• Enthusiastic, committed, team-player that is willing to go the extra mile for students and colleagues.
• Fluency in either English or Swedish
