The core purpose of AstraZeneca Clinical Drug Safety is to add value to
AstraZeneca products and safeguard the success of our business by: .
Focusing on the protection of patients who receive AstraZeneca products .
Delivering high quality product safety information to our customers throughout
the product life cycle . Providing integrated strategic safety expertise to
clinical development program . Carrying out active pharmacovigilance with
rapid identification and analysis of safety signals, to define the safety
profile of AstraZeneca products and drive patient risk management .
Ensuring regulatory compliance The Drug Safety Physician ensures the
ongoing safety evaluation of a product or group of products by providing Drug
Safety medical expertise and judgment to safety surveillance and clinical
development activities. The job-holder can expect to get broad
international exposure to other functions involved in the R&D process, get an
overview of how strategic direction is set within Clinical Drug Safety and how
decisions are made regarding the emerging safety profile of a product during its
life-cycle. The Drug Safety Physician will maintain knowledge of the company
disease and therapeutic areas for marketed drugs in development. The
Role : As a Drug Safety Physician you will be involved in various
aspects of ongoing evaluation of the overall safety profile for one or more
products and serving as the product safety expert. You will be involved in
safety surveillance activities, including medical review of individual safety
cases and cumulative case listings, the production of periodic reports,
signal-detection activities, and setting the safety standards and strategy for
clinical development. The safety surveillance activities are conducted
to the highest ethical and safety standards in compliance with Good Clinical
Practice (GCP) and regulatory requirements. All within a stimulating and

Minimum Experience / Requirements: . Medical Degree . Relevant
clinical or research experience . Proven track record of integrity and high
ethical standard . Excellent team-working skills . High communication
skills Preferred Experience / Requirements: . Being a board
certified specialist in a relevant field . Previous experience from the
pharmceutical industry.
