The Cell, Protein and Structural Science (CPSS) department in Mölndal, Sweden, is a part of the global discovery organization of AstraZeneca. CPSS delivers cells and proteins for assays and screening, provides information on protein-ligand interactions and drives the exploitation of structural information in drug discovery projects. The laboratory has around 60 scientists working in various disciplines: Cell science, Protein science, Biophysics, NMR spectroscopy and Protein crystallography. The Cell Science section delivers cells and proteins for screening and structural studies as well as scientific input in the drug discovery process.
Publiceringsdatum2009-03-23Dina arbetsuppgifterThe cell science section is now looking for two laboratory assistants with hands on experience with animal cells. The main responsibility of this position is to culture mammalian and insect cells for expression of recombinant proteins to support high throughput assays. The job will include freezing, thawing and characterization of mammalian cells, the scale-up of mammalian cell up to multi-layer â€cell factoriesâ€, membrane preparation at various scales, preparation of cryopreserved assay to ready cells, plating of cells in HTS format and maintenance of various cell lines.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
Perform experiments and evaluate results, keep accurate records. Education as laboratory assistance within biological or medical science.
Working experience of more than 1 year in culturing of attachment dependent cells (tissue culture flasks) including freezing, thawing and interpretation of cell culture data.
Approved sterile working techniques and computer literacy. Comply with health and safety procedures.
Work comfortably in teams, be capable of independent work.Proficient in the use of sensitive and sometimes complex equipment. Good organisation skils, motivated and delivery focused.
