The consultant assignment will start 16th of April and proceed for 1 year.

The arena
Discovery Sciences is global unit inside AstraZeneca contributing to the discovery of new medicines by supporting the different therapeutic areas with a variety of scientific expertise. Among the different departments in Discovery Sciences the Hit Discovery department focusses on the follow-up of high throughput screenings (HTS) with the synthesis and screening of bespoke compound libraries.
The role
As a laboratory technician you will be part of a vibrating, multi-national chemistry team focusing on the identification, exploration and implementation of new synthetic methodologies in combination with automation technologies. Your key focus will be on the support of senior research chemists in their daily work by preparing the synthesis of new chemical compounds on fully automated platforms.
We are now looking for one consultant for the role as Laboratory Technician (career level B) to join our team for a 12 month assignment, starting on April 16th.
In this role you will be responsible for collecting chemical reagents from the local reagent store, preparing stock solutions, maintaining a reagent database, and preparing automation equipment for upcoming working tasks. You will furthermore have the opportunity to learn how to use and apply highthroughput synthesis equipment.
Preferred experience/requirements
BSc or MSc in chemistry. We are looking for flexible staff (temporary positions) with good team working skills. You need to be careful with the faculty of following written procedures and document executed tasks.
