Stora Enso AB is looking for three Laboratory Technicians for R&D work in the cellulose conversion area. The candidates within SE Innovation & Strategic Marketing will be involved in cutting edge research projects in the field of developing new cellulose-based products and technical solutions. You will be part of a dynamic international and interdisciplinary team and report to the Laboratory Director. The position will be located at Stora Enso's new Innovation Center in Sickla, Stockholm, Sweden.
This is a very exciting role and you will have the opportunity to be part of a growing team that is key to our journey towards a truly renewable materials company. You will be working in close collaboration with the researchers in our R&D teams.
Main tasks
Your main tasks will be to carry out and optimise cellulose conversion processes in laboratory scale. You provide technical support to ensure a successful scale-up of the developed processes from laboratory to pilot scale and into production. You will also apply/coordinate the order of typical fibre and material analytics including WRV, fibre charge, light microscopy, particle size analysis, rheology, IR, TGA, GPC, pH, turbidity etc.
Your tasks will also consist of compiling and recording the experiment procedures, observations and analytical results and ensure that the safety standards in the laboratory/area of responsibility are in line with Stora Enso code of conduct and local regulatory acts.
Core Qualifications & Skills
We are looking for a proactive, result and quality oriented person who has ability to develop and generate ideas. You have good team working and communication skills. Fluent English both written and spoken are needed and Swedish knowledge is strongly preferred.
To succeed in this role we believe that you have a degree of Laboratory Technician or equivalent from Vocational School, Professional University, Applied Technological University, College of higher vocational studies, University of Applied Sciences or similar. You have >2 years work experience and proven record in laboratory work (experience in pilot/process environment is seen as a great plus)
You have experience of mechanical, enzymatic and chemical processing of cellulose and typical fibre characterization techniques (WRV, fibre charge, light microscopy, particle size analysis and rheology of suspension). You also have experience with typical organic chemistry laboratory techniques and analytics.
