The main responsibility for R&D is to contribute to the innovation process, comprising application, product and process development, within the Perstorp Group and also to support business in all types of customer relations. The Product and Process Development department now has an opportunity for a Manager for the Process Laboratory to guide the work and play a major role in ensuring the delivery of its objectives.

It is an exciting time with many interesting and challenging projects in the pipeline. Product and Process Development is responsible for product and process development from the initial screening phase up to up-scaling. The group leads and takes part in development work for new and existing products working with other departments within Innovation as well as the Technology departments.
As Manager for the Process Laboratory your main assignments will be to:
• Ensure health and safety first
• Manage and plan the laboratory and upscaling activities tasks of the Group
• Responsible for the working environment in the Process Laboratory
• Secure the competence level of personnel and coach, inspire and develop them accordingly
• Guide the methodological and technical development of the laboratory and contribute in investments
• Actively follow the technological development in relevant fields and identify opportunities for innovative lab and up-scaling solutions.
The position requires that you have a positive and curious attitude to new challenges, good strategic and independent thinking as well as coordination ability. What we expect from you is an open-minded attitude and a collaborative way of working, striving for knowledge sharing with your colleagues. Goal orientation is vital and communication and networking skills are keys for success.
A technical higher education on minimum Master's in the field of chemistry or chemical engineering is preferable. Good leadership and coaching skills is essential. Training in leadership, labour legislation and working environment including knowledge about chemical health hazards is a definitive advantage. The successful applicant also has several years of documented experience in a relevant area, preferably from process and product related R&D work. R&D is a project-oriented organization and familiarity with project driven work is acknowledged. Spoken and written English and Swedish is required.
The position is located at Perstorp R&D Center in Perstorp in the south of Sweden.
