We are looking for a Laboratory Engineer Research to strengthen our Skin Health team within SCA Hygiene Products AB!
The Laboratory Engineer Research is, within the Skin health field, responsible for the evaluation of new solutions to meet consumer and business needs. The Laboratory Engineer Research has a broad and active role in the early research activities (e.g. scouting, evaluating & developing new methods) as well as in transferring the knowledge to the organization to create competitive advantage.
The Laboratory Engineer Research acts as an expert in research laboratory analysis within the assigned research area, responsible for suggesting and exploring alternative methodology when needed, to spread knowledge on research laboratory methods and analysis in the organization and act as an expert and advisor to projects and colleagues in our Global Hygiene Category team and business groups

Main Tasks
In your role as a Laboratory Engineer Research you will be faced with various tasks, both practical and theoretical.
You will drive the evaluation (plan, test, analyze, conclude and recommend) of new solutions in assigned research area as laboratory expert in Research projects and activities. The participation in projects/activities can be of different levels - as consultant or as project team member
You will secure the transfer and application of knowledge around available research methods for claims substantiation to the organization, but also suggest, explore and develop alternative methodology to verify research hypothesis or claims substantiation when no relevant methods exist
Represent the skin health research area both as laboratory expert and as advisor within research to projects and colleagues in the Global Hygiene Category team and business groups
Build and maintain a broad and deep competence in internal and external methods in own research area
Represent SCA in cooperation with external test institutes, universities, and companies
Key Competencies
University degree (BSc or MSc preferably in Biology, Immunology, Chemicals, Textile or Bioscience) or similar.
Laboratory experience on working with LC-MS/MS and/or LC-DAD, including sample preparation
Laboratory experience from measuring on skin (e.g. TEWL, Corneometer, Friction, Rheology)
Skills in method development and test setup
Knowledge around skin structure and function
Knowledge in immunology, ELISA and staining technique of tissue samples
Experience from statistical analysis and analytical programs and preferable also of MVA
Fluent in English, both oral and written capabilities.
You have good communication skills and can present them in written reports as well as in discussions.
