hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos Thyrolytics AB i Lund We are looking for a Laboratory Engineer for its new lab, with expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry. In the laboratory, the principal work will include bacterial and mammalian cell culture, cloning, recombinant protein production and purification at flask and bench-top fermenter levels. The laboratory is well equipped with culture incubators, multiple benchtop fermenters, chromatography equipment, sterile benches, spectrophotometers, thermal cycler, electrophoresis equipment, blotting equipment, etc. The responsibilities of the selected candidate will include:
1. Planning cloning strategies, and experimental work.
2. Mammalian and bacterial cell culture.
3. Recombinant protein production and purification, yield optimization.
4. Train on protein production at benchtop fermenters.
5. Maintain thorough protocol and observation journals.
6. Deliver periodic progress reports, besides continuous dialogue.
7. Manage risk assessments.
1. The candidate must have a Doctoral degree, Licentiate degree, Master degree or equivalent in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or similar fields.
2. Practical Experience
a. Significant experience in recombinant protein production via mammalian and bacterial cell cultures. Experience of protein production via insect cell line, yeast cultures, and/or cell-free expression systems would be advantageous.
b. Experience in devising cloning strategies, practical experience in molecular biology and performing cloning experiments.
c. Experience or knowledge of cloning and protein production with unnatural amino acids (specifically selenocysteine) is highly desirable.
d. Protein purification, with Äkta purification system; and other biochemical techniques.
3. Communication and Cooperation
a. Ability to work as a group member, as well as independently in a lab.
b. Efficiently communicate with other researchers, academics, trainees, interns, students and external parties.
c. Oral and written proficiency in English. Professional knowledge of Swedish would be desirable.
