Overview
We are looking for Laboratory Engineers to strengthen our R&D Laboratory within Personal Care at SCA!
The laboratory creates value by delivering laboratory analysis and conclusions as a base for business decisions. As a laboratory engineer you will have a broad and active role inour global, exciting innovation projects and activities where you will represent our laboratory and be responsible for product testing. You may also be involved in laboratory quality assurance and method development activities. We offer you a challenging and developing job in a global company with many strong international brands. The positions are located in Gothenburg.



Main Tasks
In your role as a Laboratory Engineer you will be faced with various tasks, both practical and theoretical.

Evaluate (plan, test, analyze, conclude and recommend) new or existing product, pack and/or material performance as laboratory expert in innovation projects and other activities, such as value engineering and quality improvements. The participation in projects/activities can be of different levels - as consultant or as project team member
Translate product design parameters to measurable properties with relevant test methods, equipment and procedures in the most cost efficient way
Develop, evaluate and validate new laboratory methods to meet consumer and business needs
Maintain knowledge about internal and external test methods in own area
Participate in R&D projects to deliver on the R&D platforms and improve state of readiness for future innovation projects
Perform analysis of competitor products within own area
Work according to procedures and instructions in the laboratory quality system and in the working environment plan

Key Competencies
Technical university degree (BSc preferably in Chemistry, Textile or similar).
Laboratory experience incl. experience from working with statistical analysis and analytical programs.
Good communication skills and can present in written reports as well as in discussions.
Fluent in English, both oral and written capabilities.
Experience from working with packaging industry as well as knowing Swedish is a big plus.

Furthermore, we are looking for colleagues that have a creative mindset, that are precise, productive and result oriented. Someone who can effectively cope with change, see possibilities and are customer and consumer driven. You are courageous - with a can do attitude and are not afraid to learn new things.
You need to be able to travel 1-2 weeks at a time every now and then.
