Laboratory assistant for a sludge amendment study

We are looking for a laboratory assistant in chemistry for temporary position at the School of Science and Technology / Unit for Natural Science.

Background
The Man-Technology-Environment (MTM) Research Centre focuses on applied research on the environment, health and sustainable development. We are looking for a laboratory assistant in chemistry in the Environmental analysis group, that can support the ongoing research from June to August 2022.

Duties and responsibilities
The laboratory assistant will mainly work in a research project that studies the fate of per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) after amendment of sludge on agriculture land. The work consists of analysis of PFAS and extractable organofluorine (EOF) in soil and crops. There might also be necessary to perform field sampling at location in southern Sweden together with other staff, depending on the harvest time. The work is performed in an international research environment and includes handling and maintaining analytical instruments, following standard operation procedures, and perform written documentation.

Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with a bachelor or master's degree in chemistry or that is enrolled in a bachelor or master programme in chemistry. Experience from environmental analysis and PFAS analysis is an advantage. Experience and knowledge in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry is a merit.

You must have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English. It is also an advantage if the candidate can communicate in Swedish. The ability to work both independently and in groups, as well as work quality-consciously and be responsible, is a requirement. Great value is on the candidates expressed ambition to learn and take responsibility for the work.

Information
The employment is limited to 2.5 months at 100%. Örebro University applies individual salary setting.
