Background
The School of Science and Technology, MTM Research Centre, is seeking one laboratory assistant in a project concerning highly fluorinated substances in organic analytical chemistry for a fixed-term appointment for analyses of contaminated samples (e.g. as groundwater, leachate, soil) and blood samples for per-/polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and extractable organofluorine (EOF).
Duties and responsibilities
The laboratory technician will support the analyses of PFAS and EOF for samples within the PFAS projects of Eurofins Foundation and FORMAS. The work includes sample extraction, separation, identification and quantification of the target compounds and EOF including necessary QA/QC steps and documentation of the results.
Qualifications
The candidate shall have a bachelor's degree in chemistry or have ongoing studies in chemistry with a focus on analytical science.
The knowledge and skills should also include good lab techniques with the steps of chemical analysis of environmental samples using LC/MS-MS and combustion ion chromatography (CIC) methods. Experience in any oxidation reaction and method development, and working in commercial lab are valuable merits. Fluency in English is required.
