This position belongs to department 91600, Product Development Laboratory, at the PD (Product Development) Volvo Powertrain Sweden, located in Gothenburg.
Product Development Laboratory is a complete test laboratory with test capability for engine, transmission, drive line, acoustic and system testing.
Within Product Development Laboratory we are today focusing on increased effectiveness, future investments and we are implementing Volvo production System. In this phase we are looking for a Lab systems, Lead design engineer, electrical systems
Job Description:
Department 91650 Technical Development, consists of 21 employees and approximately 15 consultants and is now looking for a Lab systems, Lead design engineer, electrical systems.
Our role in the Product Development Laboratory is to drive the technical development to be able to meet new demands in testing of engines, transmissions and complete drivelines. The group carry out method and technical assignments and develop the investment plans for new technical equipment and complete test cells at the Product Development Laboratory.
As Lab systems, Lead design engineer, electrical systems you will be responsible for:
Developing requirement specifications for electrical systems in test cells and the lab environment
Contract external companies for working out design solutions and implementation into lab environment according to the requirement specification and the set up rules from Volvo
Design validation of electrical systems in development assignments and projects
Follow up design solutions from other engineers and advise co-workers
Provide input for strategies concerning electrical design in test cell environment and continuously improve the design processes
Actively communicate to our internal customers in order to work out the most efficient solution
Secure documentation for correct hand over of assignments to maintenance and operations department
Qualifications:
Engineering degree for electrical engineering from university or equivalent experience
Drive to improve our processes and way of working
You have an analytical mind and excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English
Experience of working within a development organization is considered as a merit
