The Department of Dental Medicine at Campus Flemingsberg focuses on the education of dentists and
dental hygienists. In addition, we perform research, dental specialization training and provide patient
care by specialist dentists.

Research group
This position is available in the group lead by Professor Mats Trulsson at the Department of Dental Medicine.

Our research group focuses on sensorimotor mechanisms regulating orofacial behaviors. Both sensory and motor functions are studied on e.g. healthy subjects and on prosthetic patient groups.

Duties
We are looking for a highly motivated lab manager with a background in orofacial sensorimotor research to run the lab besides conducting research with focus in somatosensory and motor mechanisms of the masticatory system by measuring variables related to bite forces, movements and muscle activity. The knowledge acquired will be implemented in the clinic to individuals in need of oral rehabilitation with prosthetic therapy. Special interest is focused on how loss of tactile sensibility due to e.g. t ooth loss and oral implant therapy, or pain influence on the individual's biting and chewing capacity.

Entry requirements
The successful applicant will have a PhD degree in orofacial sensorimotor research (human experimental, clinical and laboratory work) or a closely related subject, as well as minimum 4 years of previous post doc experience from similar work. Furthermore, the applicant should have high level of competence in experimental motor studies with a strong publication record. Highly valuably is experience from experimental work with fine motor control of the masticatory system.

We expect the applicant to be a positive, flexible and highly motivated person with superior communication skills and ability to integrate efficiently in a research team. In addition, the applicant will be involved in supervising (postdocs, PhD students and Master's students), publication processes, compiling grant applications, and organizing laboratory routines. Candidate is also expected to be familiar with TMS experiments. Emphasis will be put on personal skills in the evaluation process. Very good ability to speak and write English is a requirement.
