In our RnD labs we process hundreds of samples daily. We continuously screen for the best biocatalyst and the optimal conditions in wide, multi-parameter search. The backbone of our enzyme screening process is our lab automation equipment - including liquid handling robots - that enable us to process many candidates and conditions simultaneously.
We need your help to make the best out of our automated screening processes, increasing our throughput by planning experimental designs and maximising the capabilities of our robotic equipment. We want you to push the envelope of what our robots can do. Enable us to cover an ever wider breadth of possible wet lab activities and increasing a scientist walkaway time. After all, the quality of our experiments is only as good as the reliability of our robotics, so keeping them operating at full capacity is a top priority.
What you'll do
You will work with a small group of software developers and automation engineers supporting the RnD Enzyme Screening infrastructure
Key tasks and responsibilities are:
Assist scientists in the development and maintenance of liquid handling methods.
Maintenance of laboratory automation equipment, calibration and upgrades (including components procurement and suppliers relationships)
Super-charging robot capabilities with custom scripts - adding logging, error handling and notification capabilities.
Contribute to the development of our No Code Protocol Designer
Integration of lab equipment and inventory with our cloud based Laboratory Management Information System.
You will deep dive into our software stack, including Python - with robot specific libraries like PyHamilton and Opentrons - PostgreSQL and Gitlab CI/CD.
The position is based in Stockholm and may include some travel for research and development purposes.

We're looking for people who share our passion for problem-solving with no toolkit boundaries. You have a scientific background and have driven a project in a wetlab before. You have endured manual pipetting work and since then have moved on to use liquid handling robots and other lab automation equipment. You have experience in planning high throughput screening experiments and programming robots.
Furthermore, you have developed multipurpose IT skills (python, SQL and Git are your bread and butter), and you have contributed code to larger projects, so you are used to writing clear, maintainable and testable code.
In terms of personal qualities, we're looking for someone who is passionate about their work and who wants to push boundaries. And, not least, who is also a friendly, cooperative person. If this describes you, you'll fit in with the rest of the team!
