About the role
AFRY continues to invest in the market in the south and therefore we have started a new construction section. The section will focus on expanding within the region we call "Upper South": From Kalmar to Jönköping to Hässleholm to Växjö. Here you get a unique chance to be involved in shaping a completely new department, everything from customers, culture, colleagues, working methods and much more.
As a Construction Designer with us, you work independently and in a group with projects in the mentioned system and make technical descriptions with associated detailed solutions. In your work, you have the support of the managing designer and project manager. The service involves planning in Tekla and Revit and performing calculations with computer support.
In the office, you meet colleagues from both your own section and from other sections within Buildings disciplines such as plumbing, electricity, energy, fire, control etc.
Your role will be largely adaptable to your own wishes and ambitions. We offer a workplace that gives you great confidence in your work. We give you backup when you need it, as the cutting-edge knowledge and resources are within the company. If you like to combine work both at the office and at home, we are flexible.
The position is a permanent position. You can choose your location freely between our offices within the Upper South.
Requirements specification
To fit into a role as a Designer in building construction, you need to like working with people. Have good ability to communicate, structure and coordinate. Take responsibility towards the customer and follow schedules and budgets. In the role, your technical knowledge is important and we would like you to have at least 5 years of experience in designing load-bearing structures in concrete, steel and wood.
Our planning is mainly carried out in CAD programs such as Tekla and Revit, but more tools are available. Many of our customers are active in the real estate industry and it is of course an advantage if you have been active in similar businesses, but we realize that you cannot get everything on the list, so even if you do not feel that you fit the description 100%, apply anyway !
Personality is important, because you sometimes work in parallel assignments, you need to have the ability to create structure in your everyday life and to be able to handle your assignments and projects in the best way for both yourself and your customers. As a person, it is also important that you can instill confidence in our customers; that you are communicative and a person who enjoys being AFRY's representative with customers. You have a natural openness and curiosity for new assignments. These qualities also lead to new assignments because you listen to the needs of their organizations in the dialogue with your customers and are not afraid to "dare to raise your hand" when they need help.
