Then this might be the perfect match for you. We are recruiting an experienced KAM with responsibility for growing the business in the US west-coast.

Pelago is a specialized Contract Research Organization (CRO) supporting our partners in early drug discovery offering services in biologically relevant assays. We are known for our Cellular Thermal Shift Assay (CETSA®) technology used for accelerating preclinical drug discovery and development. Think of CETSA® as snapshots of true target engagement inside the cell, any time you need them. The company was founded in 2013 and we are headquartered in Solna where R&D, lab operation, management and sales and marketing co-exist. Today we are about 50 colleagues, but we have an ambition to keep on growing.

About the role

In this role you will be our customers drug discovery research partner with the aim of growing our business. Our customers operate in the pharmaceutical industry and biotech, ranging from small start-ups to big pharma companies located around the world. We offer a range of customized services, from confirming target engagement to strengthen target validation and understanding mechanism of action of the compounds.

You will be part of a team responsible for sales and marketing where you are the driving force for establishing and nurturing customer relations on the west coast of USA.

Responsibilities:

• Persistent work towards achieving set sales budget.
• Perform field-based activities such as customer visits, attending international scientific conferences and seminars.
• Negotiate pricing to ensure contracts.
• Supporting the team in developing marketing material and deliver presentations.
• Engagement in knowledge sharing and training of more junior KAM colleagues.
• Being a part of business tactical plan development in collaboration with the Commercial Operations Department.

About you

We believe you are passionate about sales and business development and flourish when the scientific discussion ends up in a new business opportunity. You are curious not only on new scientific findings but also on the customers and people around you, building relations come natural for you. But to last in sales over time you also need to be persistent and goal oriented. You will work both independently as well as part of a team and we therefore hope you are collaborative, have a positive and an open mindset.

To master the role a life science background in combination with previous experience in sales is a key.

You profile:

• Phd or MSc degree in Life Science (Bioscience, Molecular/Cell biology, Chemistry)
• Several years of experience in sales and business development of complex sales such as research projects, CRO/CDMO projects or similar.
• Speak and write fluently in English.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills
• Ability to travel and actively drive sales in the US west coast.
