Adecco Medical & Science in Gothenburg are now looking for a NMR Scientist for our client AstraZeneca.
The Structural analysis team is part of the Medicinal Chemistry Department. The department includes, besides Medicinal Chemists, also teams working with analytical techniques like NMR and LC-MS, high throughput purification and preparative chromatography.
The new position as NMR Scientist will mainly focus on supporting Medicinal Chemists and Drug Discovery projects.
The daily work will primarily involve all aspects of the structure elucidation of small organic molecules, which includes training chemists to perform experiments and interpret spectra, advise chemists on how they can solve their problems and maintenance of user accounts, user interface and system controls.
Since the group extends its applications and also interacts with and supports other departments the work can also include anything of the following applications depending on prior experience
• High throughput NMR i.e. flow-NMR on plates,
• LC-NMR on metabolites and by-products,
• Solid state NMR, for example on chromatographic supports,
• Vibrational Circular Dichroism
The successful candidate will have at least a B.S. degree with NMR experience including basic instrument maintenance. Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to carry out independent research are required. Strong interest and motivation to learn new technologies and concepts is expected.
