Business Unit Nuclear Power is a part of Business Division Production and responsible for Nuclear Business within Vattenfall. BU NP is the main owner and operator of the nuclear power plants Ringhals and Forsmark in Sweden; and has in addition ownership in German plants. The BU has approx 4000 employees. Fleet & Technology is the largest staff department at the BU with approximately 20 employees.
Work Description
The purpose of Fleet and Technology is to develop, enforce and follow up owner's requirements on the operating fleet, to coordinate and assist with strategic technical competence. Fleet and Technology is divided in three groups; Operations and Maintenance Development, Systems Intelligence and Long Term Operation.
Systems Intelligence has Technical and Senior Advisors with three main responsibilities:
• Expert advisor: Assist BU management with qualified advice, "second opinion" and decision support in technical issues; especially of the character concerning all or several of the operating units.
• Fleet management: Lead and participate in fleet management activities within BU Nuclear Power, contributing to increased cooperation and use of synergies between the operating units. This part of the role will include interactions with engineering departments of the power plants, with support to and involvement in some of their works.
• Nuclear Development: Participate as expert in investigations and assessments of technologies for future nuclear power plants, managed by Division Asset Development.
Qualifications
Master of Science or similar level of education. Applicants should be experienced and knowledgeable in the design and safety concept of nuclear power plants. A good general view and understanding of the main functions and systems - and their integration - of the plant is more important than full and detailed knowledge in specific areas. Relevant professional experience in the nuclear industry of 10 year is minimum, 15 years is desired. Fluency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken is required. Ability to lead engineering assignments within own unit as well as in partnership with several other organisations, national and international.
