Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Will machines change the transport industry? Currently, the actual driving of vehicles is increasingly being taken over by computers. Very soon, you will see fully autonomous vehicles on the streets. Right here and now, we are creating the cloud-based automated decision systems for the command centre which will guarantee safe and sustainable transport of goods and people.

Would you be interested in joining the Stockholm-based team responsible for the command centre?

Your task
What is the point in having an autonomous vehicle if you do not know what to tell it to do and when to do it?

For the automated command centre, you will develop and improve the AI-planning and scheduling algorithms that automatically breaks down high-level transport demands into tasks, which then are dispatched to the autonomous drones to execute.

Your profile
You have a Master's degree within the area of robotics or computer science, or relevant experience from other fields. You are interested in becoming an professional system developer. You are a fan of agile development and you do like the idea of self-organizing teams. Being part of an international work environment is something you appreciate.

You have been programming for some years, preferably in Java or another multi-purpose programming language.

About us
We are part of Scania's research organisation working on sustainable transport solutions for the future. We find answers to the questions of how we can achieve radically reduced emissions, manage the negative effects of ongoing urbanisation and save human lives in traffic, as we take responsibility for creating a better and greener environment. Our office is based in the heart of Stockholm city.
