The next evolution step in mobile communication will be machines connected to each other enabling a networked society and a more sustainable world. 3G is powering the mobile broadband revolution and Product Development Unit WCDMA is the provider of Ericsson's world-leading 3G Radio Access Network.
The baseband design unit within the Product Development Unit for WCDMA Radio Access Networks is responsible for the down link and up link baseband functionality. The tasks at baseband design vary from systemization, software design, integration and verification, algorithm design and simulation, to platform design. Technology research and contributions to standardization within the competence area of 3G baseband is also an ingredient at baseband design
The position is based at Lindholmen Science Park, located just 10 minutes away from Göteborg City Center. Lindholmen Science Park is the most dynamic development area in Göteborg. It is a part of the north riverbank in Göteborg, where a new city district is being built up in the old harbour areas. The aim is to create increased innovation, international competitiveness and growth for the entire area. Today 18 000 people are working or studying at Lindholmen. Lindholmen is the home for approximately 2.000 Ericsson co-workers.
Job descriptions:
Our department is responsible for the base band processing within the WCDMA radio base stations. The functionality includes signal processing for voice, packet data and high-speed packet access (mobile broadband). The functions include both Medium access control layer (MAC) and Physical layer (PHY). We build our applications on platforms that consist of digital signal processors and general purpose processors.
We are currently looking for software developers, test software designers, and algorithm designers to strengthen our agile development teams. As a software developer you will take part in the WCDMA radio base station MAC and PHY software design. As a test software designer you will take part in test case/test environment design and verification of PHY and MAC in realtime. Algorithm design involves simulator design, simulation activities, algorithm specification, and support to baseband software design.
Qualifications
M. Sc, Ph.D degree in telecommunication, signal processing, computer science, software engineering or equivalent experience
Genuine interest in programming, with emphasis on C and C++
Ability to work in teams
Good writing and communicative skills in English
