Purpose of the Job
Development of Amino's IPTV embedded software. The development include of both existing and future products.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
• Software development of STB products
• Develop Amino's own software to support new technologies and hardware platforms
• Work within the software development team to produce bespoke software solutions to customer requirements.
• Support the development of customer software including: o Development problem solving o Implementation and related software issues
• Maintenance of current and future Amino software
Reporting Relationships
• The role reports to Software Development Manager
Working Relationships
• Other software engineers in the department.
• Product management
Personality Profile
• Proactive, "can do" attitude.
• Self starter - must be able to take on responsibility and manage own time.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Able to cope with a fast pace of customer requirements and technology change.
Special Job Requirements
• Embedded development experience
• Strong C programming skills
• Good knowledge of OO programming, UML, Java, SQL
• Experience of developing on (rather than necessarily developing for) a LINUX or UNIX platform is highly desirable
• Understanding of set top box video pipelines, including kernel level drivers is desirable.
• Understanding of network protocols mainly TCP/IP .
• Experience of set top box technology is desirable.
• Device Driver Development is desirable.
