As a junior packaging engineer at BillerudKorsnäs, you will, in parallel with workning, be a part of a comprehensive preboarding program. This will give you the best possibilities as possible to succeed in your new role.
The group that you will belong to develops the latest packaging on the market and the customers are mainly found in retail. BillerudKorsnäs and the Solutions division are a leading player in the development of sustainable packaging solutions where you will also be one of the key players.
As a packaging engineer you will work closely with your team colleagues; packaging designers, sales and marketing, project management and implementation to ensure that packaging development meets customer and internal requirements.
You will effectively use your knowledge in science of material to guide regarding material choices, implement load calculations, and packaging testing. In your area of expertise, you will participate in the development of equipment, methods, routines and research projects within our global engineering team. Focus is given to technical solutions that can be manufactured by our global production network.
In the role of packaging engineer, you will act as technical support for project and sales teams regarding new business opportunities. As well as support to the implementation team with specifications and requirements for the production process.
You will be located at our production unit in Gruvön, Grums and you will report to the head of packaging design and technology.
In this position, business trips such as China and the United States occur approximately once a year. The goal is also to increase cooperation in Europe, which in the long term will mean trips to European countries about 1-2 times a month.

Qualifications
• MSc in, for example, pulp/paper science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or materials science
• Strong communicative ability in English, in both speech and writing. Swedish is also preferred.
If you have work experience from an equivalent or other position in the pulp/paper industry, we see this as a merit.
This role is highly market oriented and your ability to communicate and make decisions will be one of the keys to success. We are looking for you who have a commercial mindset as well as a self-motivated and driven personality. You have the ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines effectively. Finally, you are structured and with good analytical skills.

For this position you will be hired directly by BillerudKorsnäs
Salary: by agreement
Extent: Full time, indefinite
Start: Immediately taking into account your possible notice period
