Asset Optimisation and Trading (AOT) is the Business Division where all Asset Optimisation and Trading activities are centralised for the Vattenfall Group. Our activities are multi-site located across Europe with more than 600 professionals working from Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark and Poland. We trade the full range of energy commodities such as electricity, gas, oil, coal, freight, renewable energies and emissions, take responsibility for a diversified sourcing of power, fuels and carbon credits and optimise the running and hedging of Vattenfall?s generation assets. These efforts are the basis for maximum profitability and continuous business growth.
Within AOT, the Business Unit Asset Optimisation Nordic (AON) is responsible for production planning, dispatching, logistics, as well as developing and implementing the hedging strategy for Vattenfall?s production assets in the Nordic area. Our mission is to optimize Vattenfall's Nordic generation portfolio, both in the short and in the long term. AON presently employs approximately 90 people.
We offer
A stimulating and challenging position at the heart of Vattenfall's wholesale business!
You will be part of the Portfolio Strategy and Hedging team, where all commodity risks from Vattenfall's Nordic assets are modelled and managed.
Your main task will be to produce fundamental price forecasts to be used by our portfolio managers.
You will be responsible for updating and running our fundamental price models, coached by senior analysts in the Mid Term Planning department. You will provide your own perspective on results, explain uncertainties and continuously propose efficiency improvements to the model.
Qualifications
You have an outstanding academic background with a post-graduate degree in engineering or the natural sciences. Economists with a strong mathematical disposition are also welcome to apply. Previous experience from commodity markets, trading, or macroeconomic modelling is an asset but not required.
As a person, you are easy-going, a self-starter, and an excellent problem-solver. You are eager to learn about the Nordic electricity market and to build solid competence in the area of fundamental market analysis.
Location
Stockholm (Råcksta). Vattenfall's office will move to the Arena City in Solna in autumn 2012.
