Are you eager to make a difference, this can be your chance! As a consultant at ECDC, through Dfind S&E, you are part of an international organization working in three key strategic areas: providing evidence for effective and efficient decision-making, strengthening public health systems, and supporting the response to public health threats.
In this specific opening you will be a part of the Surveillance and Response Support Unit (SRS Unit) in the Scientific Assessment Group. Your focus will be VPD (Vaccine preventable diseases) and IRV (Influenza and other respiratory viruses) disease programmes. The role is of scientific character but administrative instead of in the lab.
This assignment is great opportunity to build an international network and to get hands on knowledge and experience from working with preventable disease control. It is a scientific role but a
Work tasks
• Assist with providing scientific advice both, the ECDC VPD (Vaccine preventable diseases) and IRV (Influenza and other respiratory viruses) disease programmes.
• Support the development of scientific studies, literature reviews and systematic literature reviews in the are of VPD and IRV.
• Support the production of expert advice for the interpretation and assessment of public health threats and risk perception related to VPD and IRV.
• Prepare responses to requests for ad hoc scientific advice from the European Member States, the European Commission and the European Parliament.
• Support the VPD and IRV programme heads and programme managers.
Competences and experience
In addition to the profile specification, these specific competences and experience are required for the current assignment:
• Very good English communication and writing skills;
• Experience in activities related to Vaccine Preventable Diseases and/or influenza or other respiratory viruses;
• Experience or educational background in Epidemiology or public health;
• Experience writing reports, studies, literature reviews.

Job type: Full time. The temporary position is set to start in mid-January and planned to the end six moth later, but with possible extension.
