As our Joining expert you will play an important part in the development of Platform and Tophats. You will join a team that is dedicated to design, innovation and technology. With members that are, just like you, proud of their professionalism, motivation and level of skills. The daily work will involve a lot of discussions within your network and we work closely together with R&D Body & Exterior. As our Joining expert, you will be based in Lindholmen, Gothenburg.

This is the Joining Expert role:
• Secure joining feasibility in new projects.
• Develop procedures and applications of welding equipment.
• Participate in research projects with external research partners.
• Coordinate experimental welding tasks to evaluate new equipment, techniques and materials.
• Continue to develop your expert network within your area
• Perform Spotweld Process/weldability simulations using Sorpas.
• The role consists also of product feasibility lead in defined areas.
Required background and skills:
• Master Degree in Welding Engineering, or equivalent education
• Degree in Metallurgy, or equivalent education
• Knowledge of automotive joining processes
• Experience in evaluating and introducing new production techniques
• Practical and theoretical experience in the following joining techniques is required: - Resistance Spot Welding
• Laser welding/brazing
• Practical and theoretical experience in the following joining techniques is desirable: - Mechanical joining e.g., - Self pierce riveting
• Flowdrill
• Arc welding of thin sheet structures
• Friction Stir welding
• Projection welding
• Stud welding
You and your skills
For this role, we are looking for someone with great knowledge about Welding Engineering. We believe you have at least a couple of years within the Automotive industry or perhaps you come from a research background? You have an expert network and want to participate in research projects with your knowledge.
You also have the ability to inspire, drive, motivate and coach other team members. You have a flexible mindset with the ability to lead the development and take decisions. Another critical attribute for this role is an analytical mindset to handle complex problems. Your ability to communicate clearly is vast.
