Your role
IT Operations is seeking a talented and driven Strategic Software Asset Manager (SAM) to join our team, consisting of 9 individuals today. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization while advancing your career in a supportive, inclusive environment.
As a key player in this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our IT software assets, ensuring compliance, reducing risks, and controlling costs. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Optimizing costs and managing software agreements: You will be responsible for negotiating favorable terms, managing supplier relationships, and facilitating strategic business dialogues.

Ensuring license control: You will validate data in the SAM tools to ensure accurate information about license consumption and review software agreements to maintain compliance.

Conducting audits and internal reviews: Manage audits according to the Software Audit process and perform regular internal reviews on selected software vendors and products.

Becoming SAM-tool experts: Assess, facilitate, and provide training on the SAM tools based on organizational needs.

Providing license support: Advise and support the SAAB Group with software license expertise.

Generating reports: Report on effective license positions, risks, and other relevant data.
Your profile
We are looking for a person who wants to be part of a journey of change. To excel in this role, you should possess a university degree or equivalent experience, have at least 5-10 years of professional experience in Software Asset Management, a deep understanding of software licensing, and experience in managing software license complexity within larger enterprises.
In addition to these requirements, you will need strong supplier negotiation skills, a proactive and structured approach, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Certification in Software Asset Management is a merit.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
