SCOPE OF POSITION
GWP's global team is looking for a highly motivated, creative, and e-conversant Knowledge Management Specialist who can provide technical leadership on topics related to Integrated Water Resources Management and water governance. The role focuses on GWP's aim to leverage the role of knowledge and learning in engaging and mobilizing a broader community of stakeholders to improve water resource management through strengthened institutions and good governance. Specifically, the IWRM Knowledge Management Specialist provides technical leadership on how to build a global IWRM knowledge community, stimulating discussions and sharing experiences and insights across and beyond the Partnership through leading efforts to ensure the IWRM ToolBox is a vital, and broadly owned and used resource of knowledge communities.
This role requires a person with strong grounding in IWRM - both conceptually and in terms of practical implementation experience within developing country settings - as well as experience working on knowledge platforms in the water and climate sector, bringing multi-disciplinary skills on creating and sustaining dynamic communities for exchange, learning, and capacity-building.
The IWRM Knowledge Management Specialist reports to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) as part of the GWPO Network Operations unit. The Specialist works closely with the Senior Learning Specialist and the Learning Assistant, as well as with Network Specialists, GWP technical specialists, and other staff and Partners globally and regionally as appropriate.
