EF Labs is looking for international top IT talent for internships in London and Shanghai
How we began. EF Education First was founded in Sweden in 1965 by a young entrepreneur named Bertil Hult. The concept was straightforward: take local high school students to England to learn English. We are looking for people who can help us ask and solve fundamental questions that impact the way we learn. The internship
Through Diversity Challenge you are offered to be a part of The EF Learning Labs Leadership Trainee program that invites students from the best computer science programs in the world to work alongside our research and development teams to create the future of education. Each chosen candidate will be paired with both a technical director as well as a product manager to work on a focused effort to launch a new feature or product within the EF digital learning ecosystem. Candidates will be expected to work on a diverse range of things, following the initiative from ideation through to launch. Whether you are coding in Java, planning delivery milestones, or evangelizing internal stakeholders, you will be part of a team the world's best coders, designers and user experience researchers, learning every step of the development process.
Example of project areas
• Upgrading our speech recognition engine to better recognize and diagnose speech patterns
• Developing a simple smartphone app that uses specific behavioral data from students to create an adaptive memorization algorithm
• Embedding WebRTC components into a tablet application to power our next generation virtual classroom service
The duration of the internship will be 6 months with flexible start, ideally during spring 2014.
Your profile
• Graduated or in the final year of your master studies in a computer science related degree with excellent grades.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, fluency in coding and systems design, solid communication skills and a desire to tackle the complex problems.
• English required with a preference of a second language. For the position based in Shanghai, mandarin is a definite plus.
