Working as an IT Systems Engineer at Saab 's business area Kockums, means taking responsibility and having real impact on us creating world leading Submarines and Surface ships! We are looking for an expert in IT systems to join our cross functional team, Onboard Security & IT Architecture.
Your role
As an IT Systems Engineer at Kockums you will be working with onboard IT systems in our submarine and surface ship projects. You will be part of the product development process and work closely with our system engineering teams, to make sure that the IT infrastructure onboard are well designed in accordance to the operational needs. Our products consist of many systems, both developed in house and procured and integrated in a complex distributed environment. The product architecture includes e.g. operation, information, systems, integration, infrastructure and networks.
The main tasks are:
* IT system/infrastructure requirement identification, analysis and verification
* IT system/infrastructure design, development and configuration
* Supporting IT architects and system engineers in the product development process
* Review and analysis of technical IT solutions
* Create IT system documentation e.g. descriptions, instructions and policies
The main part of the work is performed from our office in Malmö however the role include some business travels to Karlskrona, since some work needs to be done at our shipyard.
Your profile
We are looking for a person who can convert requirements and analysis into technical solutions. You need to enjoy working independently and seek necessary contacts and information when needed. However you also need great communicative skills to collaborate with many different stakeholders in our cross functional environment. Since we are also are looking for a great colleague we would prefer you to be open minded and interested in sharing your knowledge and experience!
Required skills:
* Masters degree in engineering or equivalent experiences
* Good knowledge and experience in IT, both in general and in detail
* Good communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written
Desired skills:
Good knowledge and experience in;
* Product development
* IT infrastructure (e.g. networking, infrastructure services)
* IT architecture
* IT architecture/systems modelling e.g. Sparx EA and SysML
* IT management and support
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
What you will be a part of
We offer a role in a dedicated team who take pride our work in this very important area! This is a role where you get to take a lot of responsibility for your performance and really have an important role in the company. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and professionals in an environment that fosters career development and personal growth. You will be part of the Onboard Security & IT Architecture (OBSITA) department whose purpose, in addition to IT system design is to to make sure information onboard our submarines and surface ships are secure from unauthorized access, manipulation, destruction etc. The team you will join consists primarily of Onboard Security Engineers, IT Architects and IT Systems Engineers working closely together. OBSITA is based in Malmö and Karlskrona and part of the area Product Engineering within Research and Development.
