hela Sverige The Project and Administration Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for an IT Support Administrator position in the Information Technologies Division.
Description of directorate/division
The main responsibilities of the Information Technology division is to maintain, improve, advise and lead the work on the IT platform to meet the need of the project both today and tomorrow. Mission of the team is a stable and accessible IT platform, with the key drivers of being open, excellent and collaborative. The goal of operation is to make everyone able to get the tools they need and to provide high quality service and support.
As a Computer Support Specialist you will provide technical assistance to other employees and collaborators to the project. You will answer questions or resolve computer problems for users either in person, via telephone or over a remote connection. Your responsibility is to provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software including printing, installation, word processing, mail and operating systems. You may also be required to teach people how to use the computers/software commonly used here, and to be asked sometimes to write instruction booklets.
Description of main responsibilities
• Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.
• Manage and develop our current knowledge database. This includes training materials and routines, and to train users in the proper use of hardware or software.
• Ensure that our support tool is populated with efficient request forms and good workflows to improve the overall user experience.
• Report to IT management of overall status of incident management, this includes trend analysis.
• Dispatch incoming cases to the support team and also escalate when necessary.
• Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.
Experience of working in an international environment is essential
Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage

Duration & Location
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
