Position Description
A Network Technician that will globally secure network requirements, support and maintenance within Lab/Test/Vehicle /Datalab etc, the position will be located in Lundby.
This position occurs as part of the GTT Onsite team within the Digital Engineering organization located in Lundby.

Digital Engineering
We are driving development of tools and methods to improve overall R&D efficiency. Furthermore, we are responsible for the IT CAST (Common Architecture and Shared Technology), which is a key-enabler for product CAST and optimized IT cost. We are continuously benchmarking IT on the market and in the automotive industry to make sure GTT and Volvo Group has competitive digital landscape supporting R&D.
Core Responsibilities
Onsite Network technician understand, handle changes, drive requirement regarding network landscape for Lundby and other sites.
Collaborate with HCL network technicians resolving infrastructure problems
Use delegated authority from global operations teams to manage local infrastructure solutions
Provide continual communication/feedback to GTT stakeholder in Lundby to understand their requirements and setting the appropriate expectations.
Install and configure network equipment.
Participate in local and global projects that have an impact on the local business.

Your background:
To succeed in this role, we believe you have a solid IT background with at least 5 years' experience from hardware and network. Ideally you have worked in an engineering environment for a couple of years. You have a genuine interest for working with IT infrastructure and a passion for new technology.
When it comes to your network knowledge you should have knowledge and skills in:
IP, VRF and routing principles
Ethernet switching principles and techniques
Loop protections, MST, PVRSTP and maybe TRILL
Manage switch L2/L3 configuration and troubleshooting
DNS, DHCP and NTP server and its protocol
Data Center network infrastructure
Additional knowledge that we would like to see:
Familiarity with Linux/UNIX
Cisco and/or Huawei switches knowledge and certification
Other network device configuration and management skills
VxLAN and/or MPLS-VPN
FreeBSD and PF/IPFW
Samba and SQUID knowledge
ITIL knowledge
