The Group IT unit provides strategic IT support to the SKF organization by developing sound strategies and managing selected service providers. We have presence in the Americas, Europe and Asia. We are currently focusing on our next generation network architecture to support cloud based solution, mobility solutions, industrial network solutions and IT security improvements.

We are looking for an

IT Network Solution Architect
As part of the IT New Ventures team you will be involved in innovation, concept development and various IT projects in designing network solutions. You will be working in an outsourced and partly off shored environment which mean that the quality of requirement specifications to and solution proposals from our suppliers will be your main focus as well as understanding end-to-end how the network solutions and services will work within the SKF IT landscape.

Role description:
The Network Solution Architect (NSA) operates as part of concept development and projects and is focused on the end-to-end technical solution design and the end-to-end services design for the complete life-cycle and the longevity of IT solutions. He/she is the link between business and IT, working with the business representatives (e.g. Business Analysts or Process Expert) to identify and document functional and non-functional requirements as well as actively participating in the solution and service design together with the IT suppliers involved.


Key responsibilities:
To drive innovation in the area of information technology, analysing and evaluating possible network technologies and solutions.The NSA has the authority to secure that overall SKF architectural policies, principles and guidelines are applied within the specific solution.The NSA plays an important role in the choice of technology to be used as part of IT solutions and services, not only from a functional and technical infrastructure perspective but also from maintenance and governance perspective.The NSA and Enterprise Architects have a shared responsibility to ensure that technical IT solutions are based on and integrated within SKF 's overall enterprise architecture.

Job Requirements:
Several years experience of working experience in developing IT network solutions and architectures.Deep technical insight into IT infrastructure, communications technologies and IT security.Knowledge of the SKF technical infrastructure and SKF IT security setup is not a requirement but is valuable since the programmes we are engaged in during the coming years require a very good insight into how it can work end to end in the SKF IT infrastructure environment across the various outsourcing partners we use.Given a set of business requirements, can detail the requirements and produce a specification to software and infrastructure architects.


Personal requirements:
Creative and analytical in tackling complex issues to create effective and lasting solutions.Strong facilitation skills.Strong writing and verbal skills (primarily English). Able to represent SKF Group IT by communicating technical business capabilities and strategies.Must work effectively independently and in a team environment.Dedicated, strong commitment, enthusiasm and drive with the ability to work through conflicting pressures and priorities.
