Do you want to be part of Volvo Group's exciting journey towards simulation driven development? You will play an important part in enabling our R&D organization to evolve in the virtual development activities and promote simulation driven product development.

Your main focus will be to develop GSP and the system simulation platform to enable a virtual handshake between involved functions. This will support an extended digital twin approach that includes the full spectrum from component to system and full vehicle simulation. This will also support Volvo GTT in its digital transformation journey to achieve its commitments to reduce the global warming and therefore reduce its greenhouse gas emission.

You will identify and support initiatives within the system simulation area to maximize efficiency and productivity by supporting the solution leader to execute the roadmap. In order to be successful in this position you need to have experience from product development as well as technical competence in system simulations, testing, methods and related CAE tools and applications.

Main Responsibilities
Act as main respondent of Digital Engineering for solution competence of GSP support
Support and prioritize the platform delivery plan (i.e. yearly maintenance plan and release plan)
Responsible for execution of decided requests for the platform development
Refine and propose improvements for the Platform framework
Propose prioritization of changes in the Platform in collaboration with Business sub-portfolio manager
Responsible for training material and conduct trainings for engineers
Change management skills
General Virtual Technology watch
Collaborate within an international team of engineers throughout Europe, America and Asia

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
This role requires a Master University degree or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, computer science or engineering physics
A proven track record in GSP and system simulation
Good understanding and working experience of simulation and testing approaches, industry standards and industry best practices for simulations vs testing activities
Rigid understanding of digital twins, simulation workflow and tools
Tools: Matlab / Simulink, Python, GT-Suite or other 1D tools for system simulations
Model file versioning and storage (Bitbucket - GIT) and database management
Continuous integration and delivery, compilation workflow
Curiosity and a strong ability to learn new technologies
Positive energy with a drive to motivate oneself and other
Excellent written and verbal communication skill
