This function is intended to manage SSAB's patent and trademark portfolio development program. Main activitetes are identifying inventions or trademarks to be protected and to establish general framework of an IP program including policy and procedure. Placement in Borlänge, Oxelösund or Stockholm.
About the position
Prinicipal activities:
• Responsible for IP Procedures and policies
• Preparation of patent application in close cooperation with R&D functions
• Preparation of trademark (brand) registration
• Handling of contacts with external IP firms
• Monitoring of competitor IP activities
• Monitoring of IP infringement
• Leading IP Due Dilligence in conjunction with M&A
• Regular reporting of IP matters
Your qualification
• Professional recognition and integrity to deal with colleagues and other professionals outside the company as required
• Capable of managing negoiations related to IP affairs
• Strong analytical skills
• Service minded
• Fullfills SSAB's Management criteria
Skills and knowledge
• Qualified European Patent Attorney/Engineer
• Relevant technical education and background in Materials-, Mechanical Science and Engineering
• Strong written and verbal communication English and Swedish
• Relevant IP rights legal training
• Understanding of the IP right registration systems in the main markets, e.g. USA, Europe, China, Australia
• 2 to 4 years of experience post-qualification
• Experience of IP protection and enforcement is a plus
