Who are we, your new colleagues?
Volvo Group IP is driving the creation and use of intellectual property for the complete Volvo Group. An IP operations team, with three highly skilled members, is handling IP administrative tasks for the complete department. The department is led by the Vice President Volvo Group IP with three Group Directors, responsible for the Patents, IP Strategy & Portfolio and IP Legal, Trademarks & Designs teams.
One member of the IP operations team is soon retiring and we are now looking for a replacement. You will be reporting to the Vice President Volvo Group IP and be located at Volvo Group Headquarters in Gothenburg together with about 30 colleagues in the department. Volvo Group IP also has presence at other sites globally.
Job content
As IP administrator you will be handling various IP administrative tasks, in close connection with the other teams of the department, and also be one of the super users for the IT system used for patents, trademarks and designs.
You will be handling and organizing:
IP administrative tasks relating to trademarks, designs and patents; such as handling change of registrations and renewals relating to Volvo Group trademarks, designs and patents, notarizations, collecting and structuring of power of attorneys, preparing documentation for enforcement activities, database searches
Work flows in the IT system relating to patents, designs and trademarks, including point of contact for support, together with the other two IP administrators and as additional super user
Structure, set up, handling and reporting cost follow up relating to patent, trademark and design suppliers;
Supplier relationships, as instructed
Measurements and reporting various KPIs and PIs relating to Volvo Group IP processes for trademarks, designs and patents
Certain support in the inventor remuneration process, as instructed
Who are you?
We don 't know who you are yet, but to be successful in this position you have experience from working with IP with knowledge of trademarks, designs and patents but are also an easy learner used to IT environments. It is important that you have a positive, co-operative can-do mindset and high integrity. You take own responsibility for your tasks and also see things that need to be done before they 've even occurred. You are friendly, genuinely service minded and diligent and accurate in your deliveries. You thrive in a fast moving environment, multitask effectively, quickly adopt to changes, including minor day to day to changes.
We also believe you have:
Relevant education and experience from similar positions, in-house or at an IP firm/law firm
Excellent communication skills
Excellent English skills; both verbally and in writing
Excellent computer skills
