Supply & Spare parts Storage is part of section 91840 Maintenance, Investments & Metrology within R&D. Our essential commitment is to support equipment and personnel within R&D with spare parts and service articles The Supply & Spare parts Storage group consists of 13 persons.
As an Inventory Engineer, your main responsibility is to optimize our strategies and work methods. You will have a wide network of contacts from our customers, purchasing, finance, environment and our suppliers. One important task is the Inventory Engineer network, where participants from our different sites, R&D, the Torslanda, Skövde, Olofström and Gent factories, cooperate to create Volvo standards for Inventory handling. Maximo 7.5 is our tool. You are responsible, together with the inventory planners to handle all new spare parts that are generated in our projects. One future task for the Inventory Engineer is the handling of spare parts that will be repaired, this is today handled by the maintenance groups.
Main responsibilities
Develop and optimize strategies for the Inventory Processes.
In close cooperation with the Inventory Manager, develop working methods and functions in the storage.
Take part in the global Inventory Engineer Network to establish common working methods.
Coordinate material related issues, in cooperation with the Inventory Planners, towards our Suppliers, Customers, Purchasing, Environment and Finance.
Start up the handling of reparable spare parts. This includes identifying the spare parts, creating routines and start up the actual process.
Responsible for new spare parts in cooperation with maintenance, projects and the inventory planners
Required Qualifications
Technical High school or equal
Good knowledge or experience in Inventory processes
Fluent in both Swedish and English (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
University degree or work experience in material handling and logistics
Good knowledge of Purchasing and Finance practices and processes
Good knowledge or experience with Maintenance processes
Good knowledge in Maximo 7.5 and database (SQL)
