Summer Internship, Project Management BI Solutions
Who are we?
In the business environment we're currently operating in change is inevitable. Disruptions, increase in complexity, and constant market change are causing companies to change, to adapt, and Volvo Cars is not an exception. The rise of technological innovations such as electrification, autonomous driving and connectivity - to name a few, makes everything more complex and uncertain, and we therefore need to find ways to adapt and deliver the speed and product quality that customers expect. With an agile R&D we will have capabilities to be more responsive to the changing environment and be able to meet customer needs faster and more flexibly. This capability is ultimately dependent on our ability to capture, enhance and disseminate information across our organization so that everyday decisions are based on a common view of the world. But in an agile world information is short-lived. A common view of facts and how we use them to guide our day-to-day work is one necessary component to reap full benefits of our agile vision.
Data driven transparency (DDT) is an initiative that supports a fast-paced development environment with a decision-making culture characterized by facts and transparency. Similar to a car dashboard, DDT will put in place dashboards of balanced KPI's, metrics and forums to discuss the health and performance of our development efforts all across the organization.
What you'll do
During the internship, the intern will learn about frontend development work in Power BI and support the DDT initiative with business analysis and frontend development work, connecting data and developing dashboards. She/he will work together with different stakeholders to collect requirements and insights. There will be a high level cooperation with teams from different focus areas and you will assist the improvement work around those areas.
Who are you?
* You have a background in business development, engineering and/or data science.
* You have integrity, courage, positive energy and a personality characterized by willingness to innovate and take on new challenges, being result oriented and striving for improvements.
* You have worked with some of the following tools: Power BI, Tableau and/or any other BI (Business Intelligence) system.
* You are structured, data driven and have good documentation skills. People see you as cooperative and transparent.
* You are self-driven and have no problems handling many tasks simultaneously.
* As we are a global company, you need to be proficient in English, bot verbal and written, have strong communication skills, and being able to deal with stakeholders at various levels.
* Act with an agnostic mind-set regarding usage of tools and other decisions that might be up for considerations, i.e. best practices should be used according to Volvo Cars Corporation strategies and requirements.
